Plein Air Event and Studio Tour Sign Up Form

Plein Air Event & Studio Tour:
Artists, it is not too late to late to sign up for the Plein Air Event and/or Studio Tour Day taking place Saturday, July 3rd. All Champlain Valley artists are invited to participate. The Arts Council for the Northern Adirondacks, located at Heritage House in Westport, serves as the event headquarters. Call the council at 518-962-8778, to request an entry form or download one here.

Artists taking part in the morning Plein Air -outdoor drawing, painting, or photographing, and /or the daylong Open Studio Tours are especially encouraged to register before Friday, June 11th, 2010 in order to insure inclusion in the map designating locations and guiding art enthusiasts to where artists will be working or welcoming people to their studios.

Watercolor Workshop:
Watercolor Workshop in Ballard Park, Westport, NY with Professor of Art at the College of Notre Dame, Baltimore, Maryland and Wadhams resident, Kevin Raines. Class limited to 15. Materials provided. Applications accepted, first-come-first served. Cost: $40.00. Pay by check or credit card. Call ACNA for more information.

Event Guidelines:
WHY PLEIN AIR PLUS? We are inviting you as a Champlain Valley artist, to take part in the Saturday, July 3, 2010, Plein Air - outdoor-on-location painting event and subsequent exhibit - Plus to exhibit recently produced art inspired by the outdoors in the Champlain Valley to celebrate living in this very special place! As a Champlain Valley artist, you are also invited to join in the Studio Tour July 3, 1 - 5 pm.

Visitors will receive a map indicating your painting and/or studio location, also marked by yellow balloons and signs. They will follow the yellow Balloon Trail.

ART SALES: Auction sales will benefit the artist (60%), Heritage House (20%), and Art Exhibit expenses (20%). All work must be for sale. Silent Auction bids accepted in increments of $5. MEDIA: All media accepted.

Important Dates for Artists:
July 3rd
-Plein Air Plus Event from 9 am to Noon
-Studio Tour  from 1 to 5 pm
-Plein Air Watercolor Workshop in Ballard Park with Kevin Raines from 9am-11am

Friday, July 16th, Saturday, July 17th, Monday, July 19th  from 10 am to 4 pm & on Sunday July 18th from 1pm to 4 pm.
-Take completed artwork, framed and/or ready for hanging to Heritage House. Art is insured by Arts Council.

July 22nd
-OPENING RECEPTION for Art Exhibit, 5 to 7 pm  & SILENT AUCTION BEGINS

July 31st
-WESTPORT HERITAGE FESTIVAL. Silent Auction continues

August 16th
-LAST DAY of Plein Air Plus Exhibit. SILENT AUCTION CLOSES at 3pm.
